Immigration
The 9th District of Illinois is a melting pot
for immigrants. New Americans from all
over the world are coming to live in the 9th
District. Our local authorities need to
collaborate and work along side the USCIS to ensure that everyone
living in the district is legal and registered. Every
immigrant living in the United States must be
here legally. To do this, we must consider some form of
Immigration Reform for illegal aliens:
- Illegal immigrants living in the United
States will be given the ability to register with their
local officials.
- Illegal immigrants who register will pay a $1,000
fine. They will also be required to complete a 6 month course in
learning how to read, speak, and write English.
In addition. they will learn about the way in
which our governments operate and pay back 6 months
of community service at the discretion of
local officials.
- Once all prerequisites have been met, they
will be allowed to file for legal residency
and then follow the protocols on becoming a
legal alien and naturalized citizen.
We need to implement a system that closely
monitors who employers hire and
provide them with tools to better screen
potential employees. Penalties and fines
to employers who hire illegal aliens might be
a step in the right direction in the 'weeding out'
process.
Our border patrol may be a dead issue but
it continues to come up time and time again.
We must take desperate measures to ensure that
our borders are safe and secure. We need
to prevent and deter drug smugglers from
entering our country's borders and our neighborhood's
borders.
