Healthcare
45 Million Americans lack access to healthcare
and insurance. This number is growing daily. Access to quality, affordable healthcare for all
Americans is a moral and fiscal requirement.
Universal Healthcare
Many argue that a Universal Healthcare will
lead the fight for a new, constructive
dialogue to solve America’s healthcare crisis.
However, when we look at our neighbor Canada,
we see the struggles that encompass the
Universal Healthcare system. Patients wait for
months to have surgery, doctors and staff
members do not get paid to their potential,
and poor staffing issues are just a few of the
handicaps of the system. This is not a
problem we can afford to incur.
A solution would be to further expand the use
of Medical Savings Accounts and to integrate small businesses
to larger
groups to share costs and enjoy discounts
provided by Group Insurance Plans.
Grouping small businesses would definitely
allow for more low cost insurance premiums.
This would take most of the pressure and
burden off of small businesses to be able to
insure their employees.
Bringing costs under control is the only way
to stop the erosion of affordable health
insurance, save Medicare and Medicaid, protect
private health benefits for retirees, and allow
our companies to effectively compete around the
world.
Families should be in charge of their health
care dollars and have more control over their
care. We can improve health and spend less,
while promoting competition on the cost and
quality of care, taking better care of our
citizens with chronic illness, and promoting
prevention that will keep millions of others
from ever developing deadly and debilitating
disease.
While we reform the system and maintain
quality, we can and must provide access to
health care for all our citizens - whether
temporarily or chronically uninsured, whether
living in rural areas with limited services, or
whether residing in inner cities where access to
physicians is often limited.
Malpractice Insurance Cost
Because of high premiums on malpractice
insurance, many renown doctors have fled
the district to practice in other states. This
has driven our economy down and has caused
continuity of care to decline. We must find a
way to contain malpractice insurance costs as it
will ease the transitioning process into
Universal Healthcare.
Combating Autism in America
As
Congressman, Michael Younan will work to advance
federal research into autism, promote early
screening, and identify better treatment
options, while providing support for children
with autism so that they may reach their full
potential.
